The 6 Best Golf Courses in AsiaGolf is rapidly growing in popularity in Asia, with over 400 operating courses and 100 currently under construction in China alone. According to a March 2014 report from Huidan Research, the golfing industry in China was worth $6.4 billion yuan, or $1.3 billion USD, in 2013. That’s growth of 10% from 2012. This means there’s a growing industry for golf putters and golf aids in Asia; for example, in China there are 1.1 million golfers, 386,000 of whom are active.

Asia’s growing number of golf courses includes some of the best in the world. Some of the top choices for Asian golfers include the following:

1. Bali Golf and Country Club

Located in Nusa Dua in Bali, Indonesia, this course features gorgeous scenery to complement the lush course. It’s located on the coast so it has cool, ocean breezes, something that golfers will doubtlessly welcome after a few hours in the hot sun. If you’re looking to improve your game, the club also features the world-class Ancora Golf Institute.

2. The Dunes at Shenzou Peninsula

This golf course has the distinction of being voted third on the list amongst the top 10 of “New International Golf Courses in 2010” by GOLF Magazine. And with good reason, too! The Tom Weiskopf-designed course, built on natural sand, features artfully designed bunkers with a gorgeous location on the South China Sea. There are several memorable holes with an amazing view of the sea.

 3. Blue Canyon Country Club

This course is located in Phuket, Thailand, a popular tourist destination. It features two distinct courses built around freshwater lakes. The course incorporates hazards into the natural landscape. This is a challenging course, but it has won a thumbs-up from several professional golfers, including Fred Couples and Tiger Woods.

4. Phoenix Country Club

An article on popular Asian golf courses wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the Phoenix Country Club in Miyazaki, Japan. Built on the Hitotsuba Pacific Coast, it features 27 holes lined with pine trees. This is also one of the pricier courses in Japan with the course fee being around $300.00 USD.

5. Spring City Golf and Lake Resort

You know you’re in for world-class golfing when you head to a course that famed golfer Jack Nicklaus had a hand in designing. Located in Kunming in the Yunnan Province in Southwest China, this course boasts cool, spring-like temperatures year-round. Golfers who head to this course will enjoy a stunning view of the mountains and a lake along with two championship golf courses. The mountain and lake courses have received over 80 international awards over the last decade, including being voted as one of the 100 best golf courses outside of the U.S. by Golf Digest Magazine.

 6. Nirwana Bali Golf Club

With its lush green landscape and breathtaking ocean view, this Greg Norman-designed course was created with the natural landscape in mind. It features several unique hazards, such as rice paddies, and has the distinction of being one of the most photographed courses in the world.

With the increasing multitudes of golfers heading to these top courses and the many others throughout Asia, there’s a demand for the best golf putters and clubs to make sure they’re on top of their game.
